How the Department of Energy and Environment is Leading By Example with Cloud Computing
Updated: Sep 30
The Government of the District of Columbia is making a substantial decision to improve how they administer, manage, and deliver critical energy savings programs to district residents.
On Thursday, October 1st, the DOEE will be taking a major step by launching a single, cloud-hosted software system to manage all of their energy-related programs.
ECOS will allow DOEE to provide critical services to clients remotely despite COVID-19. Services include fuel assistance (LIHEAP), discounts on natural gas, electricity, oil, and water utilities, and assistance for utilities that have been disconnected.
The Department is planning to use the system for other energy assistance programs in the near future including programs for Water, Solar, and Weatherization Assistance.
